Florence Freedom – A Home Run!

August 13, 2009 By Shannanb

For years I have driven past the Florence Freedom ballpark, wondering what it was like. Always meaning to check it out, hearing great things from friends about games. It wasn’t until this past Sunday that I was able to attend, and I am glad I did.

If you’ve never been to a game at Champion Window field, its really is a great day out for a family. The stadium is small, leaving it virtually impossible to have a bad seat, and it all seemed really well put together. The food prices were OK, not nearly as bad as you see at the major league parks. We bought good sized hot dogs for $3 each, and then split a soda in a souvenir cup for $6 with $1 refills.  This ended up being a great deal as we returned  refills a lot, trying to survive the heat. At one concession stand, they had a dollar menu, which is something that I never thought I would see at a ballpark!

The tickets were also really reasonably priced, ours (in section 112) were $10 each, with 45% going to Girls on the Run. They also had lawn tickets- bring a blanket or lawn chair and watch the game from the grass – for as little as $6 each!

Single Tickets
VIP: $10.00*
Reserved: $8.50
Lawn: $6.00**

*Includes waitress service
**Only available for purchase day of game at Champion Window Field Box Office and fans must present a blanket or chair.
-All children 2 and under are free-

I have to say that Florence Freedom does a great job catering to families. In addition to the game, they have an awesome Kids Zone that includes a bounce house, pitching and batting areas and a play set. The boys and I hung out here before the game and they had a blast! Of note, we were told that during the game you have to buy tickets or a wrist band to play on the inflatables in the area but I do not know how much this cost.

After the game, I checked out their site and saw more evidence of just how family friendly they are. They have a great Kids Club package:

Join the Freedom Fighters Kids Club brought to you by John Morrell!
Membership includes:

  • One reserved seat ticket to EVERY Sunday home game!
  • Official membership card
  • Official Kids Club t-shirt
  • 10% off in The Bank of Kentucky Florence Freedom Gift Shop
  • Monthly eNewsletter during the season
  • Pre-game parade & autograph session with the Florence Freedom players on August 23 at 5:35 pm
  • Kids Club button good for Kids Zone

*Open to kids 12 and under

Overall the boys and I had a great time at the game, and they are already asking when we might go again. If you have the chance, I’d recommend checking out a game with your family!

This is much is true, but what some customers don’t
realize is that you can help reduce your total bill by doing some services on your own. Moving Companies Usually Know Good Traffic Routes- Bangkok is a huge
city. Most movers use weight as a significant factor when developing a
