Harry Potter Night in Downtown Lebanon

July 8, 2016 By Shannanb

03390040Muggles and wizards alike can celebrate Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling’s birthdays a day early on July 30 by escaping to the wizarding world of Hogwarts, Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Embrace your love for Harry and his friends by enjoying a train ride through Downtown Lebanon, a family style feast at the Golden Lamb, and J.K. Rowling’s newest book.

LM&M Railroad and the Golden Lamb are partnering for the “Muggles Express” train ride to celebrate the release of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Parts I & II. The train will depart at 6:30 pm from historic downtown Lebanon for an hour long ride, rivaling the Hogwarts Express itself, and will be full of magic and good times. Family members of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Harry Potter characters and explore the world of wizardry.

You may not be able to eat among floating candles and the changing night sky, but you can feast at the Historic Golden Lamb instead, and enjoy a spread of fried chicken, corn on the cob, roasted red potatoes, homemade yeast rolls, Hogwarts Salad and muggle sweets for dessert. Complimentary orange soda, water, tea and coffee will be provided with alcohol available for purchase. While purchasing your ticket you can reserve early dinner seating at 4:30 pm or opt for a late seating at 8 pm.

curesd-childOf course, no night in the world of Harry Potter would be complete without the origin of the magic. Limited copies of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child Parts I & II will be available for purchase for $24. The newest play-turned-book from Rowling will follow life after Hogwarts for Harry and the gang. Harry, now married, with three school-age children works at the Ministry of Magic while his oldest son, Albus, grapples with his father and family’s past and legacy. There is high anticipation for this newest release, after Rowling closed out the original series nearly nine years ago, and it is something the entire family won’t want to miss.

To enjoy this night of magic, purchase tickets at http://lebanonrr.com/wizard.html or call (513) 933-8022. Tickets for adults are $59.99 and $49.99 for children between ages 2 and 16.

What are you waiting for? This family friendly night is perfect for all wizard lovers in the family, plus a delicious meal and pleasant train ride through southwest Ohio is hard to beat. Simply “swish and flick” your way through purchasing tickets and you will be on your way to a magical night full of lasting memories for the whole family.
