Holiday Events at Local Libraries

Our local library is one of our favorite places to go. Between programming for all ages, plenty of “fun” reading, as well as resources for school projects, it’s an easy go-to for the (rare) free weekend day.

With the holidays coming up, all of the area libraries have special programming for kids, teens, and families. That includes everything from holiday themed story times, holiday parties, craft sessions, gingerbread house making, and so much more.

There is too much going on at all of the  Hamilton, Kenton, Campbell, and Boone County libraries for us to tell you about all of it, but we’ve picked out a few activities that caught our eyes. Visit your library website to see what’s going on near you.

Hamilton County:

  • Ring in the Holidays with Pyropus Handbell Choir – Symmes Township branch (12/3)
  • Christmas and Hanukah story and crafts – Avondale branch (12/5)
  • 10th Annual Gingerbread Challenge (teens) – Harrison branch (12/10)
  • Holiday Party – Northside branch (12/17)

Boone County:

  • Kinderballet presents The Nutcracker – Scheben branch (12/13)
  • Indoor Snow Day – Florence branch (12/17)
  • Breakfast with Santa – Chapin Memorial Branch (12/19)

Campbell County:

  • Family Night: Christmas Around the World – Cold Spring branch (12/2)
  • A Visit from Santa Claus – Carrico/Ft. Thomas Branch (12/5)
  • Polar Express Pajama Party – Newport Branch (12/12)

Kenton County:

  • Gingerbread House Making – Erlanger branch (12/14)
  • Schools Out Movies (How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Christmas Carol, The Polar Express, Home, Cinderella, Inside Out, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron) – William E. Durr Branch (12/21-31)
  • Frozen Singalong – Covington Branch (12/29)
