We’re excited to celebrate the 25th birthday of one of our favorite local bookstores and FFC advertiser blue manatee children’s bookstore and decafe! They’re celebrating their 25th Mana-Versary this Saturday, October 25 with a day full of events.
Saturday’s celebration will include a birthday card for customers to sign and special birthday cookies from Donna’s Gourmet cookies. Even better – customers who come dressed as their favorite book character will get 25% off their purchase.
Other events include a special Story Time with Miss Sarah and Miss Katie at 10am, a free Make-A-Mess with Miss Kelli for children ages 4-7 at 1pm, and children’s book trivia for friends 8+ at 4pm. Winner of the trivia game will receive a book of their choice worth up to $20. Also that day, the winner of the birthday raffle scavenger hunt will be announced.
blue manatee was originally opened as blue marble bookstore in 1989. When current owners Dr. John Hutton and Sandra Gross heard blue marble was closing in 2000, they bought the store and gave it new life as blue manatee children’s bookstore adding the decafe in 2005.
