The de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation Friends and Family SIDS Brunch

Here at Family Friendly Cincinnati we love a good event, but we love it even more when it’s for a great cause.  Today the cause we are talking about is The de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation.  On Sunday, October 19 the Foundation will host, eat.play.give. The Friends and Family SIDS Brunch at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State. The 11th annual event will features food and beverages from the area’s BEST chefs and wine vendors, a fabulous Silent Auction, hands-on kids’ activities and live entertainment.

eatplaygive slideshowThe de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation is led by Jean-Robert and Annette de Cavel, who lost their four month old daughter Tatiana to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome in 2002. The Foundation has most recently awarded grants to Researcher Dr. John Hutton (also owner of blue manatee children’s bookstore and decafe) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center; Cradle Cincinnati; Tri-Health’s Cribs for Kids and the Tatiana de Cavel Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State.

The de Cavel Family SIDS Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Jean-Robert & Annette de Cavel and a dedicated group of volunteers and local restaurateurs. Their mission is to raise funds for research, education and outreach to prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as well as for the Tatiana de Cavel Memorial Scholarship at the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State. Tatiana, Jean-Robert and Annette’s 3-month-old daughter, died in 2002 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Participants include many Greater Cincinnati favorites including Jean-Robert’s Table, Boca Group, Bouquet Restaurant and Wine Bar, Coffee Emporium, Grateful Grahams, Jimmy G’s, Keystone, La Poste, M, Maribelle’s, Otto’s, Park + Vine, The Rookwood, Salazar, Taste of Belgium, and many, many more.

SIDS Brunch TicketsThe silent auction includes gift certificates to many local restaurants, art, jewelry, salon and spa services, and much, much more.
