Oktoberfest in Cincinnati & NKY

The Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky region has a rich German history that goes back hundreds of years.  And in celebration of our area’s German heritage there are Oktoberfest events aplenty in the fall months.  From August until October, on both sides of the river, in churches and on the streets, you can find numerous Oktoberfest events to choose from.  We’ve put together a list of some of the events going on around town to help you find festivals for your family to attend.  So pin this list and then dig your lederhosen out of the closet and make your way to Oktoberfest!

Oktoberfest in Cincinnati & NKY

Maysville Oktoberfest August 12 & 13, 2016 Maysville Rotary Club ~ Historic Downtown Maysville, KY Free Admission Attractions include: German Bands and entertainment, German foods, Parade, Wiener Dog Races, Tug-O-War contest for all ages, Log Sawing and Stein Hoisting competitions, King and Queen contest. Anticipate a weekend full of food, music, and fun honoring our local German heritage. Held annually on the 2nd Friday and Saturday of August!

August 26-28, 2016 Germania Society of Cincinnati  Germania Park, 3529 West Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45251 $5 Germania Oktoberfest is Cincinnati’s oldest and most authentic Oktoberfest, now in its 46th year. Unlike other local festivals that take place on the hard asphalt of city streets, Germania Oktoberfest invites you to come stroll the verdant, picturesque Germania Park grounds (in Colerain Twp.), surrounded by nature, while enjoying traditional food, drink, and entertainment. Germania Oktoberfest features traditional German food, including our famous Oktoberfest rotisserie chickens, homemade sauerkraut balls, wursts, and delicious German pastries. There’s great entertainment, including live German music, carnival rides, a Kiddie Corner with crafts and activities, games for kids, as well as games of skill and chance for the big kids. Come experience a real Oktoberfest!

MainStrasse Village Oktoberfest   MainStrasse Village Oktoberfest September 9, 10, & 11  406 West 6th St, Covington KY  41011 Oktoberfest brings a little bit of Germany to MainStrasse Village.  Arts/crafts, music, food, an amusement midway and a Kidnerplatz for the smaller festival goers. Enjoy the festival atmosphere, the old world architecture and the shops and restaurants that make up MainStasse Village. www.mainstrasse.org

St. Barbara Church Rocktoberfest ~   September 9, 10 & 11 at St. Barbara Church  4042 Turkeyfoot Road, Erlanger, KY 41018

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati ~  September 16-18 2016 in downtown Zinzinnati. First held in 1976, the event has grown to be America’s largest Oktoberfest with nearly 600,000 people attending each year. Oktoberfest Zinzinnati showcases Southwest Ohio’s rich German heritage, as well as tasty samples of German-style music, food and beer.

Wilmington Oktoberfest ~  September 23 & 24  St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Wilmington Ohio free Oktoberfest is a family /community celebration that blends a time-honored German festival with the vitality and charm of small-town America.  Oktoberfest features traditional German polka, as well as various other styles of music.  Come hungry, and sample a variety of authentic German foods.
