We’re super excited to share with you that Loren Long will be visiting blue manatee children’s bookstore & decafé (blue manatee) on Saturday, September 23rd from 2-3pm. If you’re not familiar with Long, he is an award-winning and New York Times best-selling author and illustrator who is best known for his adorable “Otis” picture book series.
You’re invited to bring your kids to blue manatee, where Long will read and sign copies of his newest book, “Otis and the Scarecrow,” the fifth addition to the very popular Otis series. After the reading, Loren Long will lead a discussion about Otis’s subtle acts of compassion and willingness to stand up for others.
In “Otis and the Scarecrow,” the farmer has introduced someone new — a scarecrow to scare away the pesky crows. But when Otis and the animals greet the scarecrow with friendly smiles, the scarecrow’s frown never leaves his face. Will Otis and the animals be able to make friends with the lonely scarecrow? You’ll have to come to this very special author reading and signing to find out!
“Otis and the Scarecrow” will be released on September 9th. According to a release we received, you can pre-order your copy by calling blue manatee at (513) 731-2665. Line numbers for the signing will be given out with purchases of the book. This event is free and open to children of all ages.
