Thanks for Sharing Your Voice! myNKY Campaign Moves on to Next Phase

June 3, 2014 By FFCStaff

myNKY logoLast month, we updated you on the status of the myNKY community visioning campaign being led by Vision 2015 and encouraged you to share your voice through the myNKY printable speech bubbles. As we enter June, the initial six-month phase of the campaign is wrapping up, but the strategic planning for Northern Kentucky’s future is far from over!

Thanks to your support and engagement in the Poll Questions, Challenge Questions, and through playing the myNKY virtual investment game, the myNKY campaign has been overwhelmingly successful! Over 11,000 individuals shared their opinions about what matters most to them in their communities, including 2,500 game submissions.

Here’s how you and your neighbors have influenced the campaign:

The next phase will involve analyzing all of the community input. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the results collected through the playing of the community prioritization game:

How does this match up with your priorities and hopes for the future of Northern Kentucky? From what we at Family Friendly Cincinnati have seen, education and transportation are certainly important, but that’s not all that matters to you!

Now it’s time for the myNKY Leadership team to shift its attention toward the plan creation phase, which will bring your goals to reality.  The 27 myNKY team members represent a variety of generations, geographies, organizations, industries, and beliefs to ensure the next vision for Northern Kentucky is as representative of the population’s wants and needs as possible. The team is being co-led by Sharmili Reddy, a senior planner with the Northern Kentucky Area Planning Commission and Geoff Mearns, President of Northern Kentucky University. The members will be empowered to work with the community—both individuals and partner organizations—to craft the next strategic plan for Northern Kentucky. Over the course of the upcoming months the team will develop a partner-led working groups structure designed to ensure local expertise is properly tapped throughout the data gathering and idea generation phase of the community planning process.

While the Poll and Challenge questions have come to an end, you can still stay up to date on the myNKY community visioning campaign by following myNKY’s various social media accounts:

What is in store for Northern Kentucky’s future? What will be our priorities? We don’t know yet, but we can’t wait to see what the community has said should be our focus!

Disclosure: Family Friendly Cincinnati has been a proud Ambassador for myNKY throughout the campaign.
