Today the folks at blue manatee children’s bookstore and decafe are kicking off their “Show Your Love for Books” contest for kids ages 12 and under.
blue manatee is inviting kids to artistically “dress up” a picture of the bookstore’s mascot, the manatee, as their favorite picture book or chapter book character. From the submissions, two winners will be chosen — one from the picture book category and one from the chapter book category.
Entry forms and official rules are available at blue manatee (3054 Madison Rd in Oakley) or can be downloaded from www.bluemanateebooks.com. Deadline to enter is February 26th. Winners will be announced at a “Show your love for books contest” wrap up party on Thursday, February 28th at 5pm. In addition to announcing the winners, wrap up party festivities will include music with Joel Caithamer, story time featuring some of the most beloved picture books and more!
