Marion’s Piazza

Have you ever heard of Marion’s Piazza?  No? Well, allow me to introduce you in on the Number 1 place for pizza in the Dayton area.  I’m not stretching the truth or anything with that statement.  Marion’s really is the #1 place for pizza in Dayton.  It was voted so by residents of the Dayton area.

I know you may be asking why I’m highlighting a Dayton area pizza establishment.  Living in Middletown, I get to experience the best of both Dayton and Cincinnati.  When I travel North toward the Dayton Mall, I always go hungry.  A stop at Marion’s is on almost every “to do” list.

What makes it so special?  Well, first of all, it’s a cash only establishment.  Thankfully there is always an ATM in the restuarant.  The atmosphere is what I truly love the most.  Each location has a different feel, but they all have one thing in common.  Come, eat and stay a while!  There aren’t servers rushing you out the door.  There is always plenty of room for groups (we’ve had groups of 20 walk in on a weekend and find seating right away!) because they want you to stay a while and enjoy yourself.  Each location has seating for anywhere from 200-500 people.

Their pizza is one of my absolute favorite.  I’ve been a few times and tasted lots of different pizza, but my favorite is the Marion’s Deluxe.  The kids, Chuck and I all love the way they do their sausage.  Honestly I’ve never seen sausage quite like theirs.  It’s like small crumbles of goodness on top of the best thin crust pizza I’ve ever eaten!  The pizza is cut into tiny squares, so it’s really easy for small fingers to pick up.  The toppings are loaded all the way to the edge, so if your kids are like mine, no wasted edges!

Cost wise, I would call Marion’s moderate.  A 13 inch pizza runs from $12 to around $20, depending on the type of pizza you get.  Drinks aren’t too bad and start at

Marion’s is also quirky.  By that I mean you order the pizza in one line and your drinks at another line.  I’m not sure why they do this and haven’t ask, but I wouldn’t want anyone to travel there and be surprised by that.  There are 7 different locations around Dayton, the closest to the Cincinnati area being in the Dayton Mall area.  However, if you’re headed to the National Museum of the US Air Force or the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, it’s worth it to get a taste of Dayton’s #1 Pizza!  Stop by and check our Marion’s for yourself!

Yes! I grew up in Dayton on Marion’s pizza! Now when my dad visits from Dayton he always brings one with him for us. Best pizza ever (especially pepperoni and sausage)!

Heavens YES I’ve been to Marion’s.I was just there during the Thanksgiving holiday. It is GREAT pizza. I’m not usually a sausge lover, but I get their deluxe with the sausage and it is YUM YUM. They cut the pizza into little bite sized squares. Which obviously doesn’t affect the taste, but I loved squared cut pizza.

Yum, thanks for the great suggestion. Next time we head up to Boonshoft we are definitely going to stop at Marion’s.
