The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra (KSO) opens its 24th season this Saturday with a show that we are super excited about —> Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration. The unique performance pairs 75 groundbreaking Walt Disney Studios cartoons (circa 1929 and 1939) with live music, courtesy of the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra musicians. Sounds so cool, right?
This very cool performance will mark the first time A Silly Symphony Celebration has been performed in public (outside of last month’s 23rd annual Disney Expo held in Anaheim, CA). One of our favorite online TV folks, WKRC’s Bob Herzog will be there as the host for the evening.
Adding to the evening, Mr. Disney will actually appear via video to explain the various techniques he and his animation team used.
The A Silly Symphony Celebration performance will take place at 7:30pm at the Florence Baptist Church at Mt. Zion (642 Mt Zion Rd, Florence, KY 41042).
Reserved seating tickets are $24, $32, $40 (children ages 6-18 are 50% off). Tickets are available online at http://www.kyso.org, by phone (859) 431-6216 or at the door.
One lucky FFC reader will win a four-pack of premium tickets to see the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra’s A Silly Symphony Celebration (valued up to $172).
So how can you enter to win? It’s easy. Simply answer question number one below. Additional items are bonus entries. Leave a separate comment on this post for each one you complete. A total of four entries are possible.
- Simply comment with the name of your favorite “old school” Walt Disney Studios cartoon.
That’s it…that’s FOUR ways to enter which means FOUR chances to win! The winner will be drawn (randomly) Friday, October 2 and notified via email (we’ll also announce it on our Facebook page). Contest is open to Tri-State residents (parent entrants) ages 18 and up. Winner will have 24 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.
