I love Red Lobster. They had me at cheesy biscuits and kept me coming back with the succulent shrimp scampi. Years ago, when my husband and I were dating, we’d go to Red Lobster and start with those delicious biscuits, add a lovely salad with blue cheese and tangy red onions and top it off with pasta and scampi. I loved that shrimp scampi. So, when Red Lobster asked if we’d like to try some of their new menu items, complete with lots of stuff for land lovers, we could not resist!
Some of the menu changes they’ve made include adding tastey items for those who are not in love with seafood. I have a friend who will not go to Red Lobster, so her Lobsterfest-loving husband has to go it alone with their boys. They will be a family divided no more! The restaurant has added Southwest Chicken Pizza (and I can tell you first hand, it is wonderful), Wood-Grilled Porkchops and Spicy Buffalo Chicken Bites, just to name a few.
Another change is that there are 15 entrees under $15 everyday. This is a fantastic price. The portions are good-sized and delicious.
We were able to try a variety of appetizers, and for our entree, decided on the Rock Island Stuffed Tilapia and Wood-Grilled Lobster & Lobster Tacos. Both were delicious. The waitress told us she waited all year for the tilapia because this speciality is only offered at certain times of the year. For dessert we chose Chocolate Wave, a rich chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream, and the Warm Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie. I loved both.
