CD Giveaway from Joel the Singing Librarian {CLOSED}

February 18, 2013 By FFCStaff

This giveaway is now closed!

Congrats to KATHY, who said: We are fortunate enough to live in Independence and to have Joel on staff at our library! My six year old loves his music! I also teach preschool, a 3 yr old class, and would love to be able to share a CD with them during music!  YOU WON JOEL THE SINGING LIBRARIAN’S CD’S!!! CHECK YOUR EMAIL 🙂

Have you heard of Joel the Singing Librarian?  He works for the Kenton County Public Library and has been entertaining children with his songs for years.  There’s quite a buzz about this guy in Northern Kentucky.  His songs are catchy and fun…and it’s no wonder kids love his CD’s!  You can catch Joel the Singing Librarian at the preschool storytime (ages 3-5) at the Independence branch of the Kenton County Public Library every Tuesday at 10:30am.  If your kids love stories AND music you definitely need to check him out!  He’ll also be making an appearance at the Museum Center on Saturday, February 23rd (keep reading for details).

Here’s a bit more about Joel Caithamer from his Bio on his website:Joel Caithamer

Joel has been a children’s librarian for over 10 years in the tri-state area and is currently Children’s Services Coordinator for the William E. Durr branch of the Kenton County Public Library. Even with a hefty job like that he still finds time to perform shows throughout the Midwest!
What’s Happening, Spaceman? earned a Parent’s Choice Recommended Award and collected lots of positive reviews throughout the country. ACTIVATE! is a slight departure from Spaceman as listeners can expect to hear louder guitars, bass, drums and a few blistering harmonica solos.
Did you get a chance to see the literacy-promoting programs, “Joel’s Library Jam” on Cincinnati CET Channel 48? If not, don’t worry, they usually air in the late morning.
Each 5 minute episode features a children’s book and an original song with everybody’s favorite singing librarian as host!
For more information go to www.libraryjam.org. You can even order a video of the programs and a CD of all the songs!

Joel will be performing this weekend at the Cincinnati Museum Center (Duke Energy Children’s Museum) to celebrate Read Across America with a concert at 1pm on Saturday, February 23rd.  The show is FREE with a membership or paid admission to the museum.  You can catch his show then, AND you can enter to win TWO of his CD’s right here!

We are giving away TWO of Joel Caithamer’s CDs, What’s Happening Spaceman AND Activate to one lucky winner.  We’ll be randomly choosing our winner on Friday, February 22nd at 2pm and will mail you the CDs.  The winner will be emailed and announced here and on the Family Friendly Cincinnati facebook page.  The winner has 24 hours to reply or another name will be drawn.

    My kids love the Li’l People CDs my sister gave us; but also, they make up their own songs all of the time! Especially at bedtime, when Mama has sung plenty of lullabies, but they still want more. We would love to mix our favorite things: the library AND music! Thanks!
