New Children’s Book Coming: Cincinnati – Our City, Our Story

October 17, 2012 By FFCStaff

Tonight (Wednesday, October 17) author Louise Borden will be on hand at blue manatee children’s bookstore and decafe to celebrate the official launch of a new children’s book about Cincinnati, Cincinnati – Our City, Our Story.

Developed by the Cincinnati Storyteller’s Project, the book was a big collaborative project –> author Louise Borden donated her talents to write the text, local artists Loren Long, Will Hillenbrand, and C.F. Payne donated their talents to collaborate on cover artwork and blue manatee press donated publishing services. Best of all? All of the illustrations in the book are by area children!

The book is going to run $16.99 and 100% of the wholesale proceeds will go to Every Child Succeeds, a local nonprofit that works to offer high risk families in the area support to ensure an optimal start for their children.

VIP DETAILS

Cincinnati- Our City, Our Story will be available for purchase TONIGHT, during a release party at blue manatee children’s bookstore and decafe in Oakley from 6-8 pm.  The book will also be available at Books by the Banks: Cincinnati USA Book Festival this Saturday from 10am – 4 pm at the Duke Energy Convention Center.

Author Louise Borden will be signing copies of Cincinnati – Our City, Our Song at both events. After October 20, the book will be available at local bookstores across Cincinnati.

What a fun event! My 6-year-old loved the book, and especially enjoyed meeting the author and getting her book signed by the student artists.
