Are You Ready for Boot Camp? GIVEAWAY – Closed

May 31, 2012 By FFCStaff

Last month, I participated in a 20 day session of the Adventure Boot Camp for Women. It was rocky, it was hard and it was rewarding. I think it’s perhaps one of the hardest months I’ve ever had. But, I’m here to tell you. I drank the koolaid.  Yep, that’s right, I signed back up for another session. I can’t wait to see what awaits me starting this coming Monday at 5:30 am.

I started out only using my 5lb weight and occasionally used my 8lb weight. By the end of the session, I was using my 8lb weight and my 10lb weight and rarely used my 5lb weight. One day I did 100 push ups. I ran; I burpeed; I planked; I plain just did many things I didn’t think I would ever do or could ever do. And I enjoyed doing some of  them (a sprinter I will never be).  I realized that I could do these things and that they were helping me. At first, though, I couldn’t do them. I really struggled. And so this is why I’m going back. Improvement to me was obvious. As a woman, I need to have strong muscles as I age – I’ve known this, but have done nothing about it.  Now that I’ve discovered this camp, there’s really no turning back or excuses to not continue.

I didn’t lose any weight and I didn’t lose any inches but I decreased my body fat by almost 1%. That doesn’t sound like much, but when you start where I started, 1% is huge and it’s going in the right direction. Do I wish it were better/more? yes, but I’m going to take it and move on from here. Here’s my pre-camp thoughts, and my thoughts two-weeks into camp are here.

So my question is, who wants to join me? Because if you do, I have TWO, yes TWO four week passes (used during one and the same 20 day session – camp runs Monday-Friday from 5:30 am – 6:30 am)  to attend Adventure Boot Camp for Women at one of their SIX Cincinnati locations:  Blue Ash, Oakley, Bridgetown, Anderson, Florence and Springboro. The passes are for first time campers only and expire on 12/31/2012.

This giveaway ends at 12pm on Friday, June 8. In order to enter, leave a comment below on why you’d like to win. You can earn extra entries by liking Adventure Boot Camp for Women on Facebook. Once you do that, leave another comment on here to let us know about your second chance to win. Winners will be first verified by ABCW to make sure they have not been a previous attendee and then will be notified by email. Winners will then have 24 hours to respond.

If you have any questions or concerns about Boot Camp, be sure to ask. I have direct access to the amazing experts at Adventure Boot Camp for Women and know they will have answers for you.

Photo credit goes to Adventure Boot Camp for Women (this is from my session at Blue Ash – yes, I’m in there somewhere…….).

I’d like to win because I just started seriously trying to lose the baby weight from my 3 kids a little over a week ago. My youngest is 2 1/2 so really, I should have tackled this a whole lot sooner but just haven’t stuck with it. This would be a great way to be kept accountable to regular exercise and would improve my overall health.

I would really love to get a kick start on my workout. I have 90 pounds to lose and NO motivation. I think that a group class, where people would notice if I were gone would help greatly in kick-starting my workout regime. I need help!

I am not sure which would be more challenging the 5:30 or the boot camp. I haven’t been able to carve out time to excercise with three kids home for the summer, this would help get me started.

I need this to kick start the year of Erin! I’ve let the pounds pack after having 2 babies and really need to get rid of it. Having something like this to keep me accountable would be perfect. You are looking so awesome so if this can do that for me, I’d drink the koolaid too! (sugar free please, I’m trying to watch my weight) 😉

I first heard of Adventure Boot Camp when I was picking up my registration packet at the Flying Pig Expo. I spent the months leading up to the Flying Pig Half Marathon, taking long runs with my sister on Saturday mornings. Now that it is over, I am looking for another challenge where I can focus on building muscle and decreasing body fat. With working 10-12 hour days, it is hard to find the energy and motivation to get runs in or go to a gym. Also, there are no other options for morning classes here on the Westside. So not only am I looking for a challenging morning workout, I’m also looking for a place where I can feed off of other people’s motivation and dedication. It’s nice to know that I wouldn’t be the only one doing the workout and I would hold myself more accountable than when I do a workout by myself.
