Old Timers Day in Rabbit Hash

September 2, 2011 By FFCStaff

One of our family’s favorite things to do is to take a drive in the country to a little place on the Ohio River called Rabbit Hash, Kentucky.  It’s a beautiful, but tiny community, a destination for families, musicians, artists, motorcyclists, nature lovers, and four legged friends.

Rabbit Hash is home to many festivities including barn dances, art shows, and concerts around the stove in the old general store.  But one event our family has come to love is Old Timers Day.  This Saturday, September 3rd, Rabbit Hash will be hosting the 32nd Annual Old Timers Day festival.

The fun begins at 11 am and lasts until 11:30 pm.  There will be delicious food to purchase  &  great music to enjoy including Willie Eames, Gunpowder Creek, Keshvar Project, Rabbit Hash String Band, StarDevils, Shiny and the Spoon, Coralee and the Townies, G Miles and the Hitmen, Pure Grain and our family’s faves: Jake Speed & the Freddies.  There will also be crafters, antique cars, and a “barnival” for the kids (carnival games in the barn).  Be sure to check out their website: www.RabbitHash.com for more details (and directions).
