This summer, taking your family to the ballpark is as easy as reading a good book, literally. The Freedom’s Xtreme Reading Team, will enable your child to slide into a good book and provide an affordable evening for your family all summer long. The Freedom’s summer literacy program, sponsored by Xavier University, incentivizes children to read all summer and as a reward they can swing into the Freedom’s gates at no charge on Wednesdays. Steal another deal on your way to Meijer off Houston Road. Meijer offers free food vouchers to use during the game.
I personally love taking my girls to this ballpark. On Sunday games, children get to run the bases. This venue is big enough to give your child a taste of a major league game but small enough to interact frequently with Liberty and Belle, the team mascots. If you are not available for Wednesday’s literacy nights, this outstanding ballpark never fails to entertain its families every other night of the week with fireworks (on Fridays), music, mascots, playground areas, games, and interactive fan moments on the large video board. Don’t strike out with other challenging venues with large crowds and traffic hassles. From entering the free parking lot to the seventh inning stretch, the ease of entering this diamond will no doubt hit a homerun with your family!
The City of Florence will enjoy hearing your family sing, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” all summer long. For more information on the Florence Freedom Ballpark and the Xtreme Reading Team, visit their website at www.florencefreedom.com.
