We talk a lot on this blog about fun stuff to do with your kids in the greater Cincinnati area — but we know our readers don’t just play all day. A lot of us work, too! Somebody’s got to pay for all that fun (and food, clothing, housing, etc.)
Those of us who don’t have jobs (with paychecks — of course, parenting is the biggest unpaid job of all!) may be thinking about working, but aren’t sure the traditional full-time, in-office gig fits your family’s lifestyle.
Here’s a concept: What about finding a job that pays well, challenges you professionally and flexes to meet your family’s needs?
It’s not as pie-in-the-sky as it sounds. There’s a new staffing firm in Cincinnati that’s based on just such a concept. Mom Corps connects experienced professionals who want flexible work with employers in need of talented workers.
Mom Corps specializes in non-traditional staffing across a variety of functions and industries including accounting, legal, marketing, human resources, strategy, finance, technical, and general management. And they’ve recently expanded to the greater Cincinnati area, opening up new opportunities for stay-at-home moms and working moms looking for more flexible work. What could be more family-friendly than that?
I’ve had the incredible opportunity to get to know Mom Corps through the Cincinnati office’s regional owner, Eisha Armstrong. She introduced me to the concept back in the fall as she got her business off the ground, and ended up hiring me to help her spread the word about it to Cincinnati moms. It seems like just about every mom I tell about Mom Corps is totally excited by the prospect and wants to learn more. In fact, talking about Mom Corps is so fun for me, I kind of can’t believe I get paid to do it. (But I’ll take it!)
And sooo, of course I wanted to share it with all you Family Friendly Cincinnati readers. Here’s what you need to know:
- If you are currently working but are interested in something a little more flexible, sign up with Mom Corps and find jobs that could be perfect for you.
- If you’re not working now but are thinking about getting a paying gig soon, register for this upcoming Mom Corps seminar on Feb. 9.
- If you have any questions about Mom Corps and what they do, feel free to ask me or talk to Eisha directly. (Her contact info is on the Mom Corps Cincinnati blog.)
I hope you find this new resource useful in getting the kind of work that fulfills you, contributes to your household’s bottom line and works well for your family.
