Keepin-it-Country Farm Festival

October 2, 2009 By FFCStaff

Last weekend, we headed north to  Keepin-it-Country Farms located near Waynesville, Ohio. The day we visited it was cloudy, a bit chilly and misting so that may be why we were the only initial visitors.  Lucky for us! For $10 we got wristbands for the girls and they were able to do all the fun activities. First they jumped in the corn themed bounce house, then they moved to the pony rides and really loved that.  They did a mini-train ride, played on the interactive playground.  My oldest daughter and I went on our own personal hayride ($5/adults) and then she did the mini corn maze with her Dad.  My youngest loved playing in the corn – sort of like a sandbox but filled with hard shelled corn.  She could’ve stayed there most of the day.  They also have a few farm animals on site. You can feed the goats, say hello to the donkey’s and listen to the Roosters crow.

The farm is on a smaller scale but my girls (ages 4 & 6) gave it high praise.  S (age 4) said it was “the best farm ever” and K (age 6) wanted to know when we were going to visit again.  They really enjoyed their day. This is also a great place to get some family pictures since they have adorable Fall displays of gourds, pumpkins, haybales and more throughout the farm. Of course, getting your children to sit still and smile for the camera may be another story.

Inside the barn, they had affordable concessions (hot dogs, bratts, sloppy Joe’s, hot chocolate, brownies, cookies and more). There was  a small gift shop filled with seasonal Halloween and Fall decorations.  The barn is also where they host barn dances on Saturday nights.  For $10 adults can enjoy some country music and dance the night away.

Keepin-it-Country farm festival is open on Saturday and Sundays through October 31 from 10am-6pm. They have some coupons on their website, www.keepinitcountryfarm.com so make sure you print some off before you go.
