Celebrate Covington’s Bicentennial with the COV200 Kickoff Celebration

Covington is turning 200!  If you ‘Love the COV’ then you’ve likely been hearing the buzz about the upcoming Bicentennial Celebration and all of the fun events that will help usher in a new century for the City of Covington.  All of the fun gets started with the COV200 Kickoff Celebration at Drees Pavilion in Devou Park on May 22 from 6-8:30 PM.

The Covington Bicentennial Committee has put together a family friendly and fun event that will get the birthday party started in style! This free event features food, games, fun and special activities for kids under age 16 (such as entering a raffle for a chance to win an iPod Touch or iPad!)  Cash bar available for the grown-ups and FREE transportation to and from the event!  If you meet at John G. Carlisle School in Covington you can grab a shuttle at either 5:30 PM or 6:20 PM, enjoy the festivities, then grab a return shuttle at 8 PM or 8:40 PM.

During the event the Bicentennial Committee will premier never-before-seen footage of the Bicentennial documentary and promotional video.  You’ll also get a chance to meet Bicentennial Ambassadors, take advantage of unique photo opportunities, find out how you can get involved, and learn more about all of the plans in place to celebrate Covington’s 200 years of rich history.
