Another weekend is upon us,  and there’s plenty of fun to be had all around town!  Here’s your handy dandy weekend guide to help you plan all sorts of things for your family to do!   There’s a little something for everyone…festivals, artistic experiences, shows, storytimes and MORE!

 

SATURDAY ::

Fort Wright Elementary Fall Festival ~ Saturday November 9, 2013 3:00pm-7:00pm ~ 501 Farrell Covington Ky ~ Come join us for our biggest fundraiser of the year to help increase technology in our classrooms. Admission to the festival is free and game and raffle tickets are sold at the door. Have fun in the bounce house, cake walk, hair flair booth and more. A Musical Zoo    November 9, 2013  10am & 11:30am    Linton Music’s Peanut Butter & Jam Sessions    www.lintonmusic.org     Mt. Washington Presbyterian Church 6474 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45230     $5 for an individual ticket or $15 for a book of 4 tickets; Children under 2 are free!    Listen! Is that a bird or a flute? Is that a swan or a cello? Is that a fish or a piano? Come hear and find out on an adventure through our musical zoo! During PB&J performances, children are invited to sit on the floor, close to the performers, allowing them to be “part of the action.”  An educational coordinator hosts each concert, leading dances, beat patterns, songs, and question & answer sessions to guide and enhance the experience for children and their families.  At the end of the concert, we invite you to meet the performers and get an up-close introduction to their instruments.


Second Saturday in the Studio    November 9, 2013 1:30-3:30pm     blue manatee bookstore    $30    OFF SITE EVENT Learn art history and create artwork in two media with Brazee Street Studios’ Sandra Gross and blue manatee’s Miss Kelli (Kelli Gleiner). This month, we’ll be exploring the world of POP ART! Create a collage to take home with you, and then make one using safe glass components and exciting techniques!  AGES: Ages 7 and up  Pre-registration is required. Open House – Ornaments    November 9, 2013 10am-1pm    Brazee Street School of Glass   $15    Celebrate the holidays by making ornaments with your family! Bring your parents, grandparents, siblings, and children to this introductory class and create fused glass ornaments for each other or someone you love. Open to all ages (we suggest 4+), kids young and old! Ornaments fired and ready in time for the holidays. No experience necessary.

SOG Story Time: Tap the Magic Tree    November 9, 2013 1:30pm-2:15pm    Brazee Street School of Glass    $18 Bring your little one to SOC Story Time! Listen to ” Tap the Magic Tree”” by Christie Matheson, the create a one-of-a-kind tree sun catcher inspired by the story using a variety of save Bullseye Glass materials. Ages: 3-6
