It’s a three day weekend! Aside from all of the great events and activities going on around town, there’s a certain excitement in the air because the school year is coming to a close, the neighborhood pools are opening up and ice cream trucks are circling the streets. Summer is upon us!
Since it is a holiday weekend, we’ve expanded our weekend post to include Monday so we could share with you some of the events and parades going on around town this weekend to commemorate those who died while serving our country in active duty in the United States Armed Forces.

Park Hills Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 27 11:30am The route includes Dixie Highway to Arlington Drive to Old State Road to Terrace Drive to Amsterdam Road to Rose Circle road. Flag Raising Ceremonies are at the intersection of Amsterdam Road and Park Drive and start immediately following the parade. ”Parade Entries: Parade entries include elected City, County, and State officials, local fire and police departments, floats, convertibles, military vehicles and personnel, local businesses, antique cars, marching band, community groups, horses, school youth and sport groups, local music groups, gymnastic clubs, and neighborhood entries.
Flag Raising Ceremony: At the conclusion of the parade, a flag raising ceremony will be conducted at Trolley Park at the intersection of Amsterdam Road and Park Drive. A flag that has flown over our nation’s capitol will be presented to the City and flower displays will be placed at the base of the commemorative markers honoring the Park Hills residents who have given their lives in war.
Garden Club Bake Sale: A bake sale sponsored by the Park Hills Garden Club will be open for business prior to the parade at the corner of Amsterdam and Park Drive. City of Blue Ash Memorial Day Parade May 27, 2013 10:15 AM The parade will proceed east on Cooper to Kenwood, south on Kenwood to Hunt, east on Hunt and end at the Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park on Blue Ash Towne Square. Military organizations, non-profit organizations, and various businesses will participate in the parade.
