It’s another amazing weekend in the Greater Cincinnati area and we’ve got a great list of family fun ideas to help you get out and enjoy the city!  Don’t forget-two HUGE, exciting and Family-Friendly local festivals are happening all weekend this weekend:  Maifest at Main Strasse Village in Covington invites you to come and celebrate the city’s German Heritage all weekend long with games, crafters, music and SO much more!  And CincItalia encourages you to celebrate your Italian Heritage with food, music and MUCH more!  Read on for a loooong list of fun stuff to do over the weekend!

Elmo’s Super Heroes  ~Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County (Anderson Branch)  Noon

Cincinnati Fire Fighters Mural Fundraiser  ~Fuller Ford (900 West 8th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio)  10 AM to 3 PM

Swing by Fuller Ford in Queensgate Saturday, May 18 any time from 10:00AM – 3:00PM to test drive a car, nosh on FREE Gold Star Chili Cheese Coneys and help ArtWorks create a mural celebrating our beloved local fire fighters.  For each test-drive, ArtWorks will receive $20 for the mural. Join us for an art-filled afternoon.  The Wyoming Art Show is one of southwestern Ohio/Greater Cincinnati’s premiere juried Art Shows and Competitions.  Over 150 fine arts exhibitors are selected to participate in our booth sales and competition.  Great music, distinctive food offerings, and free children’s art activities complement a well-balanced, juried fine art show and sale.  We are also pleased to provide free admission and parking.

FREE playgroups that feature the popular Miss Meliss, who keeps babies and their parents engaged & entertained with her unique brand of fun. Play dates always include a snack. 4th Annual MainStrasse Village Maifest ~ May 17-19 ~ Located along the 6th Street Promenade, Main Street, Philadelphia Street and Goebel Park in Covington. Hours: Friday, 5:00 – 11:30 p.m Saturday, NOON – 11:30 p.m. Sunday, NOON – 9:00 p.m.

CincItalia  ~St Catharine of Siena-event at Harvest Home Park

Since 2010, CincItalia has showcased aspects of Italian culture never before experienced at a Cincinnati festival. St. Catharine of Siena’s CincItalia is a true celebration of Italian heritage. The annual event draws attendees from the entire tri-­state by offering entertainment from national music acts, activities for all ages, and authentic cuisine prepared by local Italian restaurants and Cincinnati’s Italian cultural societies.

Go Dog Go!   ~Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park   May 18 & 19 {times and locations vary}

It’s the last weekend to see Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s Go Dog Go!  Eastman’s beloved children’s book comes to life on stage! Big dogs and little dogs, black dogs and white dogs and all dogs in between delve into life with gusto, creating a visual spectacle of movement and color for audience members of all ages. The dogs swim and play. They howl at the moon. They ride a Ferris wheel. They sing, dance and climb trees. It all culminates in the greatest Dog Party of them all in this rollicking, musical free-for-all.  This production has played at different community centers around town so visit their website to find out where they are this weekend!
