Does anyone else feel like they are in a holiday whirlwind this month? We are winding down from our holiday celebrations with family & friends, cleaning up the wrapping paper, shoveling the snow, and wearing our pajamas all day long…it’ wonderful, but I feel like after another day or so of this we are going to be ready to get out of the house and have some fun! Luckily, we still have some fun holiday happenings going on around town this weekend. We didn’t have time to hit all the stuff going on around town before Christmas, so maybe now we can!
I’m hoping to squeeze a few more fun activities into this weekend, because before we know it the New Year will be here and the kids will be back to school. Speaking of the New Year, have you seen the AWESOME list of family friendly New Year’s Eve events going on around town that our contributor Karen put together? There’s something for everyone in this roundup! Our very own Shannan B. even went on WCPO’s “The List” to talk about this epic list of New Year’s Eve fun.
But before we ring in the New Year, here’s some fun things going on this weekend in Northern Kentucky & Cincinnati ::
There’s still time to catch a holiday train display at EnterTRAINment Junction, The Cincinnati Museum Center or The Behringer Crawford Museum. And if you stop by the Cincinnati Museum Center, you can get a deal on your passes if you go in with a friend (buy one get one half off – now through January 6).
Strut your Stuff on the Ice :: The US Bank Ice Rink is still open on Fountain Square, so lace up those skates and take a spin on the ice! See all the details here.
And if you haven’t had time to do so yet this holiday season, there are still some awesome light displays going on. See Karen’s list of light displays for all the best shows in town.
Other ideas for family fun this weekend :: play in the snow, go to your local library and rent a movie & have a family movie night, as a treat take the family out to a restaurant you’ve never been to (for ideas check out our roundup of reviews at this link), work on a puzzle or play a board game with the munchkins, invite your child into the kitchen with you to create a meal or a special dessert, READ a book together as a family, visit someone you haven’t seen in ages, or if your house looks like mine perhaps a family cleaning day is in order 😉 Have a fun weekend!!!
What kinds of fun things will your family be doing this weekend?!
